This Day of the Dead throw pillow cover is printed with artwork that depicts a colorful Sugar Skull or Calavera. The origins of this Mexican holiday are the subject of disagreement. Some think they are of Indigenous origins while others think it's a Spanish holiday that was adapted. Regardless it came into its current form in Mexico. It's usually celebrated November 1st and 2nd and coincides with All Souls Day but it varies a bit by region. Whatever the case, I wanted to combine this element of the celebration with cats as I am very much a cat person!
